Prop Firm Profit Split Calculator

Most prop firms advertise an “80% profit split” or even “90% up to 100%”, but the number that matters is what lands in your bank account after the evaluation is passed and the payout is processed. This calculator converts any profit split into real dollar figures.

Gross figures before any payout processing fees. Many firms deduct a small processing or platform fee per payout.

The formula behind it

Profit generated = account size × profit %. Your payout = profit generated × your split %. The firm keeps the remainder. If a firm offers a scaling plan (for example 80% rising to 90% after consistent payouts), run the calculation twice with each split to see the difference over a year of payouts.

Worked example

On a $100,000 funded account with a 10% profit target and an 80% split: you generate $10,000, keep $8,000, and the firm keeps $2,000. If payouts are monthly and you hit target every month, that is $96,000 per year before fees, from one account. Run the compounding calculator to model a scaling plan on top of that.

FAQ

Do I keep the split forever?

Most firms keep your split for as long as the account stays within the rules. Some reduce or pause payouts if the account goes inactive, and scaling plans can raise your split after a set number of consistent payouts.

Why does my balance reset after payout?

Most funded programs reset the balance to the starting amount after each payout and keep your maximum drawdown anchored to that reset level. That is why payout math should always be planned per cycle, not compounded on the full balance.
